Cutting Tools
The large range of cutting tools makes the Stihl brushcutters extremely versatile. Before fitting any cutting tool to your brushcutter ensure that you have the right combination of brushcutter and cutting tool and guard.
The different type of cutting heads are:

Supercut Head Double line for cutting and thinning. The nylon line is kept at the optimum cutting length automatically. This head is used for cutting around obstacles, and small weeds.
Autocut Head Double or quadruple line for cutting and thinning. The nylon line is advanced automatically by tapping the cutting head on the ground while walking. This head is used for cutting around obstacles and small weeds.
Trimcut Head Double line for cutting and thinning around obstacles. The nylon line is adjusted by hand.

Polycut Head Universal cutting tool for thinning and for working on large areas. With three movable thermoplastic blades.
Metal Blade Steel, with two or four reversible cutting edges. This head is used for working on large areas of tough grass.
Metal Blade Steel, with eight cutters. This head is used for cutting thick dry grass, nettles and reeds.
Shredder/Brush Knife Steel, for thinning out and removing tough matted grass and scrub. Can also be used to trim thorny bushes.

Circular Saw blade/Scratcher Tooth Special steel tool for brushcutters from the middle range upwards. This head is for woody bushes and thin tree trunks as well as sawing jobs.
Circular Saw blade/Chisel Tooth Special steel tool for brushcutters from the middle range upwards. For gnarled bushes and thin trees, for sawing and clearing.
Circular Saw Blade/Carbide Extremely robust special tool for use in dry, sandy areas and for cutting new ground level.
Supercut Cord Stihl has a number of different thicknesses of nylon line to allow you to do the job correctly the first time. The thicknesses of line that you can get are 1.6mm, 2.0mm, 2.4mm, 2.7mm, 3.0mm and 3.3mm. Each line thickness can be purchased in rolls as small as 15 meters and as large as 250 meters.
